Mike Hoque is more than a restauranteur
Okay so Mike Hoque is more than a restaurateur. The owner of Dallas Restaurant Group Concepts (Dallas Chop House, Dallas Fish Market, Chop House Burgers, Wild Salsa) is what the smart real estate folks over at D CEO call a Culinary Capitalist.
Last night I spied a tweet from Steve Brown, DMN’s real estate writer, and was only somewhat surprised to read the restaurateur referred to in his headline was Hoque.
This man has been a major force in developing downtown dining and preserving historic buildings and, as he has told me on several occasion, has always had bigger plans.
He’s certainly taken a major step. Yesterday he announced he acquired the 60-year-old Adolphus Tower on Main Street which is 27 floors of new opportunity. According to Brown’s story, Hoque plans to install new restaurants and retail on the bottom floor and rebuild the office space above.
Look for more downtown construction in a few months.
